Do you allow kids?
Yes! Bring the whole family. Berliner Pub is accessible to minors until 10pm daily. There is a small area near the bar that is 21+, but most of the restaurant, including the outside beer garden, is family friendly. Happy Hour is served in the whole restaurant, so you can all take advantage of it!
Do you allow dogs?
Yes! All well-behaved dogs are welcome in the outside patio. To access the patio, you can enter from the alleyway at the back of the restaurant, or you can walk your pups through the main restaurant. Service dogs are allowed inside the restaurant.
What is the outdoor area like?
Our beer garden is quite large and will seat 60 people comfortably. In winter it is covered and heated and we have a basket of blankets for extra warmth. In summer the covers come off and it's bright and sunny and hot! There is full service in the beer garden. There are no TVs outside, so it is much quieter there than inside the restaurant. Smoking is not allowed, so you must go out into the alleyway behind the restaurant if you would like to smoke.
Do you have TVs?
Yes, there are 6 TV sets at the pub, so you are sure to be able to see at least one from every seat in the restaurant.
Do you show sports?
Yes! We focus on soccer and play all the Seattle Sounders games. We always reserve a section for soccer fans. We open for many world cup soccer games, especially for USA and Germany games, as well as for the semifinals and finals. Other than soccer, we will show a variety of other sports, including football, basketball, baseball, and ice hockey. We do not show boxing or fights.
Do you do catering?
We do not do off-site catering. If you are organizing a party that is coming to the pub and you would like to pre-order food, please call, and leave us a message so we can organize that with you. Do you sell kegs to go?
We do not sell kegs, but we do have growlers for sale. You can also bring your own growler and have it filled.
How much is a Growler?
Growlers are available for sale for around $10. The beer price varies depending on which one is chosen. Growlers are 32oz, so prices are a little less than for a 2L beer.

Do you take reservations?
Yes, we do make reservations for parties of 10 or more. We ask that if you have a party of 20 or more, please let us know in advance so we can ensure that we have enough staff. We also take We highly recommend making reservations when Happy Hans plays. Happy Hans dates can be found on the calendar but are generally once a month on the second weekend. We don't reserve the bar area, the bar rail, or the firepit table. The best way to make a reservation is to call and leave a message, or to send an email. 425-277-1111 or theberlinerpub@gmail.com.
Do you have a separate room?
The only part of the restaurant that is separate is the outside beer garden. The rest of the restaurant is one large space.
Can I reserve a whole section, or the whole pub for my event?
This is a multi-faceted question. We can reserve a whole section of the pub if you have enough people to fill it. The outside beer garden seats around 60 people, as does the beer hall. We will reserve enough space for your party but will allow other customers if there is extra space. We only rent out the whole pub under special circumstances and is on a case-by-case basis. What kind of events can I have at the pub?
We have catered many events at the pub, 1st, 21st and 90th birthday parties; wedding rehearsals, weddings and 50th wedding anniversary parties; baby showers, graduations; and small and large corporate gatherings. You can celebrate all sorts of things with us!
Do you celebrate Oktoberfest?
Absolutely! It's our favorite time of year. We serve the same Oktoberfest beers that are available in the 'wiesn' tents in Munich, so it's authentic. We always kick off the start with Happy Hans German Band and they end it for us as well. It's a month-long celebration.
When is Tacoma opening?

Do you sell gift cards?
Yes! You can click on the tab on our website to receive a gift card. It will be emailed to the recipient, and they can come in anytime to redeem. If you are old school, we have physical gift cards available at the Pub. Come in and purchase a gift card and we will pack it up in an envelope and sleeve for you. Gift cards are valid at both Renton and Tacoma locations.
It's my birthday! Do you do anything special?
Yes! Let your server know and they will buy you a dessert for your special day. If you have a party of 10 or more, it's best to make a reservation. We do allow you to bring decorations if you do not staple anything to the walls and use tape that does not leave a mark. Balloons are allowed. Please no confetti! We also allow you to bring birthday cake.
I'm turning 21, can I come in at midnight on my birthday?
Technically, your birthday starts at the stroke of midnight, so we will allow you to come and celebrate your 21st birthday at midnight. You must of course bring your valid ID.

What time does the kitchen close?
Sunday through Thursday the kitchen closes at 10pm. On Friday and Saturday, the main kitchen closes at 10pm and we have a late night menu until midnight. You can find our late-night menu on the menu tab, just scroll down until you find it.
Do you have dessert?
Yes! We love Dessert! You can find the Dessert menu on the menu tab, scroll down until you find it. Traditionally in Germany, many have Schnaps after a meal to aid in digestion, or as a dessert. We have a lovely assortment of Schnaps available on the Cocktails menu.
Do you have any non-alcoholic cocktails?
Yes! We have several non-alcoholic cocktails available, which mimic real cocktails. We also have non-alcoholic beer. Some of these contain trace amounts of alcohol (generally 0.5%) and are therefore not available to minors. Some on the menu are a mixture of juices and are available to minors. There is a list on the Cocktail menu.
Where should I park?
Downtown Renton offers a lot of free parking. There is a lot of street parking around. There is also a parking lot directly opposite the Pub, although it does fill up quite quickly. There is a large parking lot a block away, at the Renton library. We would suggest that you park there if you have more than one person in the car as it is a little out of the way.
What is your food like?
We have a menu that is both American and German. We have good old American burgers, buffalo wings and fries, and we also have pretzels, sausages, schnitzel and schweinshaxen. There is something for everyone. We have yummy salads and vegetarian sausages (Beyond Meats) and burgers (Impossible burger patty). There are gluten free options (although everything is cooked on the same cooktop, so we can't guarantee there won't be any cross-contamination). Portions are large, so sharing is encouraged. We have a kid's menu with smaller versions of our sausages, chicken strips, corn dogs or sliders. We make most of the dishes, sides and sauces in-house. There are a few things we bring in, such as the sauerkraut, but we make our own red cabbage (rotkohl). You can find pictures along with the dishes under the food tab.
When does the Happy Hans German Band play?
We like to think of Happy Hans as our personal German Band, but they do play elsewhere so we can't have them every weekend unfortunately! They usually play on a Saturday, every 4-6 weeks, from 6-9pm. Their schedule is posted on our Events tab. They do not play in July or August (even they need a break!), so their September performance to kickstart Oktoberfest, is always very busy. We suggest that if you have a party of 10 or more people, that you make a reservation when they are playing. Some dates are more popular than others, so our suggestion is to make a reservation well in advance. Reservations sometimes close a couple of weeks in advance. You can bring the whole family to join the fun. There are often many kids doing the chicken dance alongside the adults. Feel free to dress up as well. There will often be people wearing traditional lederhosen or a dirndl when they perform.
What's with the mugs on the wall?
The mugs you see displayed on the walls of the pub are our Stein Member program. This is a loyalty / membership program. You can join anytime, but every January we announce the "Stein Master", who has their name engraved on a plaque and gets to keep their stein on display for the year. The cost is $150 to join for 1 year. For that you receive a t-shirt, empty growler, and discounts every time you come in. You receive a 10% discount every day, and on Monday you receive a 20% discount. You also receive discounted merchandise and a free birthday dinner on the week of your birthday. The coolest part is that you get your own Berliner Pub mug with your name on it, so you can use that each time you visit us!
What's with the 3% Service Charge?
We don't like it as much as you do, however, business never really recovered after Covid, so margins are thinner than ever. Now the people of Renton voted to increase minimum wage by $2 per person, per hour. This wasn't implemented gradually so we could adjust, it went up overnight. With an average of 750 hours a week, you can do the math. We hope we can adjust it in the future.
